HTML 5 Resources
HTML5 represents an evolution of HTML, not a revolution. It takes HTML to the next level while still maintaining backward compatibility. The big advances in HTML5 come from studying current usage patterns and building on them. Rather than chart out an idealized usage of the language, people looked long and hard at how HTML was being written by real coders. The way HTML was being used in the field became the basis for the new advances in HTML5.
In this module, we'll review what is meant by "structural markup" in HTML. We'll also review basic page layout with CSS. We will pull apart an XHTML document and put it back together in HTML5, using the new semantic tags. We'll lay out our new page with CSS. Finally, we will make the HTML5 tags and CSS cross-browser compatible.
